Sterling Wire Round – 16ga Half Hard (.051″/1.3mm)

The most traditional silver used by jewelers and silversmiths. Sterling Silver is an alloy of 7.5% copper and 92.5% silver, hence the term “925”. Compared to .999 pure fine silver, sterling silver is harder and has a lower melting point of 1640 degrees farenheit. Sterling silver can also be made softer or harder through heat treating or through being worked. Choose from dead soft or half hard in either round, half-round or square shape wire.
